What is public health?
Public Health prevents disease and protects the health of a community.
We do this by:
Immunizing against diseases like polio, measles, mumps and whooping cough.
Teaching parents and caregivers of children correct car seat use, and providing car seats to children.
Ensuring that mothers and young children are eating nutritious food through the WIC program.
Providing preventive dental services to children at their school.
Responding to disease outbreaks such as H1N1.
Preventing lead poisoning in children.
Providing kits to test well water and kits to test the radon level in your home
