Oconto County, state and federal officials have been working together for nearly a week in response to last weekend’s storm damage with Sheriff Todd Skarban as the Incident Commander. Due to the progress made, response is now being led by a Unified Command made up of the eight affected townships and Emergency Management Director, Tim Magnin.
A Multiple Agency Resource Center (MARC) will be available on Tuesday, July 30 and Wednesday July 31 from 12pm-6pm both days at the Mountain Community Center, located at 13412 Highway 32/64 Mountain WI 54149. Representatives from community agencies such as North Lakes Community Clinic, Public Health, UW-Extension, Economic Support and Economic Development will be present to answer questions and provide information on available resources.
As clean up continues this weekend, please keep these safety tips in mind:
- Treat every wire as a live wire.
- Do not plug a portable generator directly into the building’s wiring or plug into an electrical outlet.
- Wear closed toe shoes, long pants (no loose clothing), gloves, eye protection, ear protection and cutting chaps if operating a chain saw.
