July 26, 2019 - Northern Oconto County Storm Damage Press Release #3 7/26/19

Oconto County, state and federal officials have been working together for nearly a week in response to last weekend’s storm damage with Sheriff Todd Skarban as the Incident Commander.  Due to the progress made, response is now being led by a Unified Command made up of the eight affected townships and Emergency Management Director, Tim Magnin.

A Multiple Agency Resource Center (MARC) will be available on Tuesday, July 30 and Wednesday July 31 from 12pm-6pm both days at the Mountain Community Center, located at 13412 Highway 32/64 Mountain WI 54149.  Representatives from community agencies such as North Lakes Community Clinic, Public Health, UW-Extension, Economic Support and Economic Development will be present to answer questions and provide information on available resources.

As clean up continues this weekend, please keep these safety tips in mind:
  • Treat every wire as a live wire.
  • Do not plug a portable generator directly into the building’s wiring or plug into an electrical outlet.
  • Wear closed toe shoes, long pants (no loose clothing), gloves, eye protection, ear protection and cutting chaps if operating a chain saw.
