Oconto Highway Department moved equipment on April 11 and 12 to the shooting range to start construction of the berms and shooting lanes. Land conservation and Survey personnel went to the range on April 18th to verify cut and fill measurements for the highway to continue moving soil.
Forestry and Parks Department will be looking to bid out construction of No-Blue Sky Shelters, shooting benches and concrete pad in May. Bids will be opened in June. Once construction of buildings are complete then Technology Services will be assisting Forestry and Parks in installing video surveillance. After all items are in place then final grading and backfilling can be completed.
Oconto County does not have an opening date at this time, but would anticipate the range to be open during the third quarter of 2017.
